What is your role at Love Stanislaus County?
I am thrilled to serve as the Love Our Schools Director, a new role designed to strengthen and build relationships between schools, businesses and community organizations. Cultivating a culture of positive, supportive involvement with our diverse student population enhances our entire community in both the short and long term.
What do you love the most about your job?
I love connecting with people who are passionate about education and serving the students in our school communities.
What do you love most about living in Stanislaus County?
There really is so much to love here. I appreciate the close community feel, multigenerational relationships, and our neighbors’ willingness to take care of one another.
There is nothing like the smell of the air in summer as you walk near orchards of peaches. Or the freshness of other fruits and vegetables at a farmers’ market. I love that so many of our towns have annual festivals that are a fantastic celebration of togetherness.
In what ways do you participate in the community?
I’m a longtime member of Centenary Church (the one with the bells) on McHenry Ave and have been an active part of their annual Vacation Bible School for over 20 years.
I was privileged to serve as a school Trustee on the Sylvan Union School Board for 13 years. You may see me around town at an event as Doctor Strange or the Glad Scientist.
